Sunday 23rd September 2007 ” Your Talents”

Dear Friends, 🙂

Let me start by Thanking the Lord dearly for the is opportunity to get back online and do what I like doing best… Ministry!!!, Spreading the word through this blog. For the last four weeks I have been out of action and not in very good health, but I am living proof that the Lord heals. I am getting better by the day. Halelujiah!!!

So clearly, I went to church this Sunday, after for weeks all that had not changed was the tent otherwise peepz and all new smiles and God had made us a new day. We had guest speakers, a fella from UK and a fella from the US of A. Both were soccer fans and representing “Ambassadors in Sports”.

These two chaps John Squire (The Briton from New Zealand) and Matt (I figure must be Mathew from States) preached or rather gave their story in turns.

Lets take John’s first. He bagan by giving us a reading as below:

Mathew 25:1,14 (NIV)

1“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like 14“like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them.15To one he gave five talents[a] of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. 17So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. 18But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. 19“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’ 21“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ 22“The man with the two talents also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.’ 23“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ 24“Then the man who had received the one talent came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ 26“His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. 28” ‘Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. 29For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 30And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

God has given us all talents/skills. We are all made wonderfully and none of us NONE OF US was made as an afterthought, we where all purposefully and planned out extremely well and carefully.

Now this fella, John talked about being a talented man, well he kept saying how hopless his talent is but he made it clear that it was his talent and he loves it. Guess what it is… Football (Soccer) and he clearly is nto a MANU fan coz he asked MANU peepz to repent. For those of us who cant stand fooball, dont worry its just a bunch of 90 over exercised men chasing a round ball made of pigskin in a large pitch my grandfather would have liked to grow maize on. Football is one step below rugby in the shaddy calendar.

Anyway back to talents. Here is a KEY question to you dear reader, “What is your talent?” Have you ever given it a thought? Frankly I haven’t. And if you have, how does it help you? Friends are you a dramatist, a sportsperson, an enterprenuer? What do you have to urge to wake up to do every morning? (And dont say work!!!)

Friends what do you passion for? John mentioned how he uses his talent of Football to spread the word of God around throught the Ambassders for Sports. The challenge to you all is to think of your talents and how you use/can use them to spread the word of God.

Refer to the bible reading on the talents and apply it to your daily life. Remember that YOU are wonderfully made and that you have a talent somewhere, you just need to find it (Oh and I am also speaking to myself here).

Matt on the other hand came up and aksed for the definition of worship. There where so many different difinitions that I got confused to i decided to google it…

here are some references…

Hosea 6:6 (NIV)

6 For I desire mercy, not sacrifice,
and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

Micah 6:6-8

6 With what shall I come before the LORD
and bow down before the exalted God?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?

7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams,
with ten thousand rivers of oil?
Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8 He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Romans 12:1

1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual[a] act of worship.

Romans 11:33-36

33Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and[a] knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
34“Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?”[
35“Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay him?”[
36For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.

So when all is said and done we must constantly keep worshiping God, we must keep renewing our minds. We must show this through our words and deeds, ya, they must match in the worship of God. Remembers our bodies are many parts of one body, so must be our deeds and actions.

Here are some nice final words…

Colosians 3:23

23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.

Thank you all and God bless

Jonathan Kathukya.

Sunday 16th September 2007

Did it have to be?
Or was it just meant to be?
Rather, did it take place?
Can I get any answers?
And why it happened had to be answered.
Silence as I expected is my answer.

Many do remember
U our dear sister
Rear were your characters
Each of us always wonders
Remembered u’ll always be
Within our hearts Ur place remains
After ill we’ll meet one day

Today was a day like no other, a day that has more than numbers or words that can afford to express it. Today is the day we celebrated the second anniversary of our beloved sister Dorcas Nkatha Murerwa. Though two years have passed on it still feels like yesterday. She, as the head of usher and a Stomper, had impacted greatly to the life of so many people.
The testimony of her life given to us by the aunt was an eye opener as she used so many appraisal words to describe the life of a heroin, Dorcas Murerwa. Ilinijazz when the aunt said she still has the remains of the rose flower that was given to Dorcas by her love. That’s brilliant and so sweet.
Even a deaf person would have heard the sifa that Dorcas was being given by everyone. Ni mob we’ll take the whole of today trying to exhaust them but hatutafanikiwa.
Isaiah 43:1-4
1 But now, this is what the LORD says-
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cush [a] and Seba in your stead.
4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life.

Psalms 51:6-7
6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts [a] ;
you teach [b] me wisdom in the inmost place.
7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Today’ sermon was about …..

The bottom line. By Pasi Tony

The world is still evolving and the ancient world can not be compared with the current world so It follows that today’s world can’t be compared to tomorrow’s world. What is thought of as the in thing by this generation might be worthless in the next generation. We should invest in heaven where thee are no moths, rats or thieves to devour your property. God is the same today yesterday and forever. People are deeply consumed by the things of this earth and some have sidelined salvation because of the things they own in this world and the processes by which they achieve their wealth through might be bizarre.
Most people have decided to keep off the work of God because of their inadequacy. They feel that what they did a while back is so bad that the all forgiving God can not forgive them. God forgives they who proclaims their sin and repents. A righteous man falls seven times but rises to his feet after every fall.

The bottom line is that you rise above your inadequacies.

Sunday 9th September 2007

Leo things were so tight. Praise and worship was lead by VUC with their startlingly united voices. They bambaad sana I don’t know why the finished leading the praise and worship. Next came the famous four. Of the four two took to the podium to share or is it giving us an insight of the time spent on the country of …

The East African Tales on Mozambique
Season one
Episode 01

Liz aka lish and Lawrence aka Lawrencia decided to give us a peek of what they experienced there. The two ambassadors/ missionaries/ ex Mozambique Kenyans representatives had a lot to say. Lish had a nice time spreading the word to a people who speak who speak Portuguese and chagana only with very few of them speaking English. It was a miracle in itself when they got a boy who can speak English and deep Mozambican language

Lawrencia also had a fabulous time so he said enjoying God’s wonderful creations. He helped lead a witch to salvation “the husy of the itch was a tough nut to crack” he said with a grin to his face which in a tinkle of a eye became a long smile to reminiscent the length of the country of their tour. I hope the converted witch will work some holy juju on the husband.

“Are you ecstatic to be in church this Sunday?” I hoped Pasi Tony would start but he didn’t. Though he managed to ask the question he used some different words.

Colossians 3:22
The way you see others is the same way they see you. Every body is looking for a way on how they can draw the spotlights to themselves. Its like this generation ni ya watu wamelengwa thus people go to extreme length to get attention. People don’t leave in the reality of things but they leave what they see on the telly. People are more focused on the material things of the earth. Pasi Tony decided to make first lady blush. He semad that he does love what God did for them in the early years of their lives when they were pamoja. They would trek / walk from Ufungamano house to OTC so as to pata a mat that will cost them Ksh10 both. This was a time of kidogo but they had each other showing that their love wasn’t based on materialistic thingies. WOW.

Where are people who serve people on behalf of God? It’s really shocking how when people have less will be at God’s feet asking Him to sort them out but as soon as they get what they wanted they leave the service of God.
We have to make it our desire to see everything as God does.

We have become TV junkies. The devil knows that the moment he keeps us away from the scriptures he can easily win the war. We have to suffer to a bit to be made tougher. There is no substitute to the truth of the scriptures. We should red scripture to avoid losing our focus.

JOHN 1:1

2nd Timothy 2:15

We need new grace for each new day and season and we can only have it if we read the word of God.

Roman 13:12
